A Batam ferry is the quickest escape from Singapore by sea - about an hour across the Singapore Strait. Several operators run frequent daily sailings, mostly from HarbourFront Centre, to a choice of terminals on Batam. Here is how the routes, fares and entry rules work.
Fares and terminals at a glance
Fares vary by operator and whether you buy a one-way or return ticket, and most quoted prices add compulsory terminal fees on top.

Which terminal on Batam
Batam has several ferry terminals, and the one you want depends on where you are staying:
- Batam Centre - central, near malls and the city; the most common choice.
- Sekupang - west Batam.
- Harbour Bay - near Nagoya, the main hotel and nightlife area.
- Nongsa (Nongsapura) - north-east, closest to the Nongsa resorts; some sailings use Tanah Merah in Singapore.
Operators and fares
The main operators are BatamFast, Majestic Fast Ferry, Sindo Ferry and Horizon Fast Ferry. As a guide (October 2026), a one-way ticket runs about S$28 to S$43 depending on operator and route. On top of the ticket you pay the Singapore passenger departure fee (about S$10) and, on the Batam side, a terminal fee of about Rp100,000 (roughly S$10). Schedules and fares change without notice, so confirm on the operator’s site.
Entry rules for Batam
Singapore citizens enter Indonesia visa-free for up to 30 days (non-extendable, tourism only), and need a passport valid at least six months.
